Khan Academy - College, Careers, and more

Khan Academy offers a wide variety of resources with regards to College admissions, starting and navigating careers, personal finance, and entrepreneurship. Khan Academy has also pledged compliance with the CT Student Data Privacy law.

Transition Coalition

Transition Coalition, located at the University of Kansas, Beach Center on Disability, offers professional development opportunities for secondary transition and college and career readiness of youth with disabilities. 

NTACT Transition Resources in the 2020-2021 School Year

NTACT (National Technical Assistance Center on Transition) is aware that state and local education and service providers are challenged by the current health concerns, closings, restrictions, and fluid reopening plans associated with COVID19. The resources in this section of the website will be geared toward state agency and local providers providing services in virtual, distanced, or hybrid formats. We think these resources are valuable to planning in any format; however, more traditional resources are available throughout NTACT's website. 

The Youthhood

The Youthhood offers a welcoming online community for teenagers and young adults where they can start thinking about what life goals and careers they want to pursue. It addresses questions such as: What will you do after high school? Will you work? Go to college? Live in a place of your own?

VCU: Center on Transition Innovations

Provided by VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University), this webpage provides a guide of Transition focused resources that may be helpful for students with disabilities, family members, and educators during the COVID-19 closure. 

 

VCU also provides access to free, online courses that may prove helpful to those who are transition out of high school.

Texas OnCourse

Texas OnCourse is an online resource for college and career preparation. From their website: 'Texas OnCourse is as about as close as it gets to beingan instruction book for guiding educators, students, and their families step-by-step through the entire process of planning for what happens after High School.' The website Novoresume has put together a career guide for people with disabilitiesIn this guide you will find information about the job search process, your rights in accordance with the ADA (Americans with Disability Act), advice on which careers to pick, an overview of job sites for people with disabilities, FAQ, and much more. Novoresume has not currently pledged compliance with the Connecticut Student Data Privacy law.
