Impact of Bullying in Schools through December 2011: Fed. Gov't and State Resources

Connecticut Public Act 11-232, An Act Concerning the Strengthening of School Bullying Laws

This comprehensive new law signed July 13, 2011, includes steps to reduce the incidence of student bullying by requiring public schools to:

·         Adopt a clear policy against bullying behavior

·         Train all school staff who interact with students on how to prevent bullying

·         Ensure that all school staff take immediate action when they observe bullying or receive a report

·         Gather data to assess the extent of bullying in the school
